Single Duct Constant Volume Air System

The single duct constant volume air system supplies a constant quantity of air at a constant or varied air temperature, through a single run of duct to the air diffusers throughout the controlled area.

A controller or zone thermostat, sensing return, supply, or zone air temperature, modulates the heating and cooling to regulate the temperature of the air entering the area. It is a conditioned air supply system.

The return fan which draws air back from the space, provides the return link in the air circulation for the zone.

The air system may be comprised of the following components:

  • Return Air Duct Fan
  • Mixed Air Dampers
  • Min. Fresh Air Damper
  • Prefilter Section
  • Preheat Coil
  • Preheat Coil Circulating Pump
  • Heating Coil
  • Heating Coil Pump
  • Cooling Coil
  • Cooling Coil Circulating Pump
  • Gas Fired Burner Section
  • Direct Expansion Cooling Unit (Evaporator)
  • Packaged Refrigeration Unit (Compressor and Condensor)
  • Humidifying Section
  • Supply Air Fan
  • Filter Section
  • Air System Automatic Controls
