Exhaust Fan Balance
Procedure for an exhaust fan balance. Exhaust systems are ducted to the exhaust fan or the exhaust fan is installed in the area served. Check the exhaust fan for correct rotation. The following preliminary data should be obtained at the exhaust fan. Fan and motor RPM.Motor current and voltage.Nameplate data on fan and motor.Motor sheave, fan pulley and belt sizes.Fan statics. If ducted traverse the main exhaust duct. Using the induct balance dampers balance the exhaust branches to design CFM. Make preliminary grille readings and adjust CFM to design conditions. No adjustments should be made during the final set of readings. Using a smoke stick determine that each room served by the systems is a at it's correct pressurization. The following final data should be obtained art the exhaust fan. Fan and motor RPM.Motor current and voltage.Fan static pressures.Motor sheave position. Air balance
